Did you know that your subconscious mind is responsible for 95% of your brains processing power beyond your conscious awareness?
Which leaves the other 5% for your conscious, critical thinking on a daily basis.
That’s pretty incredible when you consider that throughout your waking hours, all that working, talking, planning, creating that you’re doing is only accessing 5% of your brain. Whoa.
Knowing how much power your subconscious mind contains, what keeps us from accessing this power more fully to our advantage?
Well, the short answer is, it’s in your Unconscious, which you can’t access while you’re conscious.
DOH.
This means, in order to access your subconscious mind (which IS possible) you have to find a way to get around that sometimes ornery, conscious, critical (and even judgmental) part of your brain. To get out of a Gamma or Beta brain wave state and into an Alpha brain wave state where your super learning can take place.
Here’s another fun fact: Your subconscious mind is like a huge memory bank of cloud storage. Its capacity is virtually unlimited and it permanently stores everything that ever happens to you. Just to give you an idea of what that looks like, by the time you turn the ripe old age of 21, your brain has already permanently stored the equivalent of over 100x the contents of the Encyclopedia Britannica!
Your subconscious’ job is to store and retrieve data.
No judging. No discerning.
Just storage and retrieval.
It also ensures that you respond to the data that has been stored, a.k.a. your “programing,” in exactly the way it was notated when it was logged into the system. In other words, if you “decided” at a young age that you aren’t good enough in some way shape or form for example, then that “program” will continue to run throughout your entire life, quietly in the background and coloring every decision you make, until you upgrade your programing.
Thus, keeping you locked in a particular set of patterns that fit your self-concept and how you should move through the world “safely.”
Oh, and it also happens to be responsible for keeping the lights on…
Those automatic functions, called homeostatic impulse, that we don’t have to think about such as maintaining your body temperature at 98.6°, keeping your breathing steady and your heart beating on a regular basis. And through your autonomic nervous system, it also maintains the balance of the hundreds of different chemicals in your 50,000 trillion cells throughout your body so that you are able to function each day and feel a myriad of emotions from one end of the spectrum to the other.
Your subconscious mind is Subjective. It does not think or reason independently; it merely obeys the commands it receives from your conscious mind. While your conscious mind is Objective, your thinking mind. And it has no memory, only holding one thought at a time. (We’ll talk about the myth of multi-tasking another time).
Thus, you can see that your subconscious mind is an unquestioning servant that works day and night on your behalf to make your behavior fit the patterns consistent with what has been stored in your emotional cloud storage throughout the entirety of your life. Including (but not limited to) your habits of thinking and acting, your comfort and not so comfortable zones, as well as your hopes and dreams, and works very diligently to keep you coloring inside those lines, i.e. those habitual ways of being and thinking.
All in the name of keeping you safe, alive and on the planet.
This is the clever work of your Amygdala (Or Amy as I like to call her).
Your Amygdala is part of your limbic brain and is your subconscious at work daily to keep you safe.
Amy is responsible for your how you feel emotionally and physically, triggering that dreaded sense of discomfort whenever you attempt to do anything that is new, or different or outside any numerous pre-established patterns of behavior.
Releasing a cascade of neurotransmitters (glutamate, adrenaline and cortisol) that coarse throughout your body, creating a cellular level “fear” imprint in your body. As a matter of fact, anytime your fears get triggered, this is a clear sign that your subconscious programming has been activated.
So I have a question for you:
How often do you upgrade the software on your computer or smart phone?
Ever couple of years I would imagine, Yes?
To get rid of the bugs, the bits that no longer work or are outdated because a new, better, smarter way of operating has been discovered?
When was the last time you upgraded your subconscious programming?
(I can hear the crickets…)
Are you ready for an upgrade? To help you knock out the bugs in your system that have been plaguing you for perhaps YEARS?
Ok Great. Because it’s easier than you might think.
There are 2 ways to help you rewire your subconscious programing.
Both require stretching outside of your normal comfort zones and trying on new beliefs, habits and attitudes in a way that literally helps you remap the neural pathways in your brain.
The first route, is to take the slow and steady approach by consciously choosing an empowering new mindset or belief, focusing intently on it daily, and practicing it daily so that over time it becomes a new engrained habit or way of thinking about yourself or the world.
This takes practice, tenacity and a willingness to be uncomfortable for as long as it takes, in order to make that new habit stick and feel “comfortable” as you develop a higher level of competence with it.
The challenge though with this first route when developing a new habit at a conscious level, is that you might be working against a competing thought or limiting belief that lies at the subconscious level. And with its 95% computing power and the emotions to back it, the subconscious belief will ALWAYS win.
Principle of the Mind #4: The mind cannot hold conflicting beliefs at the same time. So if your conscious mind is saying “Yes you can!” meanwhile your subconscious mind is saying “Oh, hey, wait, I’m not so sure about that…” That’s when you get that stuck, spinning in circles feeling or two steps forward, 3 steps back effect.
The second route, is for those who are impatient like me. Those who are ready to be done with that old way of being that has been holding you back for years, perhaps decades.
This rapid rewiring method incorporates the tools and techniques from the first route but super charges the process by Directly accessing your subconscious mind, finding the originating event that created the limiting belief or behavior, and helps you reprogram your subconscious mind inside of 30-90 days.
Through the process of Rapid Transformational Therapy, an amazing method that infuses the power of cognitive behavioral therapy and neuro-linguistic programing with hypnosis, we’re able to access the event that instilled the limiting belief or behavior in the first place. Looking at it from your current adult perspective while in a relaxed state of hypnosis, you can rewrite the emotional outcome of that scene, so it is no longer has an emotional charge.
You essentially neutralize the emotional charge, i.e. the painful decision you made about yourself or the world as a child or young adult and replace it with a new empowering belief or perspective that lifts you up and propels your success.
Thus, enabling you to Respond vs. React, the next time that emotional button gets pushed. Shifting the story and the emotion of what you felt from that original event while acknowledging the history of your life.
Let me clarify that statement because I’m not dismissing what happened to you in any way.
Your history is what it is. It happened – good, bad or ugly.
However, it is the emotional residue or fear imprint from that event, “the story” that you’ve been carrying around for years, beliefs about yourself such as “I’m not good enough,” I don’t deserve love,” “I can’t keep money,” “I’m worthless” etc., which has been impacting your perspectives on things all this time.
Wouldn’t it would be wonderful if when we experienced any kind of traumatic event (large or small), we were able to feel it fully and then be done with. Clearing your emotional cache so to speak, setting those fears aside and keep on moving forward?
And while a lot of you might be thinking that IS what you do, we need to remember the 95-5% rule. That yes, you do recover and keep moving forward. That’s called being resilient.
However, those feelings, those emotional wounds and scares are ALWAYS being recorded at a subconscious level. That emotional residue sticks around, sometime for years and years. Sitting there quietly in your subconscious where Amy, Your Amygdala can remind you in a flash of that feeling and do her best to keep you “Safe” from experiencing that painful feeling again. And thus, taking you off course of where you were intending to go.
Wouldn’t it feel great to be free of the painful perspectives from your past?
To be free of the perspectives, ideas and habits that have negatively impacted your sense of self-worth?
To be able to re-claim your confidence, your self-esteem, even your health and well-being?

Let me tell you about Chris Michael Harris– He is an amazing entrepreneur who had built a multi-million dollar company by the age of 27. He was healthy and fit and up to really big things until his health failed him and was suffering from severe adrenal fatigue and digestive issues.
His fatigue was so debilitating, simply taking the garbage cans to the curb was all he could do in a day. When I met Chris, he had been in the care of doctors for two and half years, carefully and meticulously monitoring his blood work, his diet, his sleep, his stress levels and was slowly, very slowly making progress.
Through our work together, he was able to get at the root causes of what had created his intense drive and need to “crush” everything that he did in life. It was his fear of not being enough, being judged, not “crushing it” which resulted in the extreme stress that had impacted his body and forced him to essentially put his life on “hold” until he regained his strength.
Today, he says he feels the best he has felt in years, if ever, because the burden of those old emotions and fears no longer plague him. As a result, his latest business enterprise is growing in quantum leaps, his relationships are stronger than ever and most importantly he is happy, healthy and peaceful from the inside-out.
If you’re curious to hear more about his amazing results, you can listen to his widely acclaimed podcast “Entrepreneur Hour” and the interviews we did Before our work together and After our 90 days of work together.
