As the winter solstice approaches and we start the trek back towards spring, I always take time to pause – to look back on what gifts and lessons the were offered over the year, what I’m most grateful for and how I want to move forward (hopefully with more grace and ease) into the new year.
As I mentioned in my “Inspirations” newsletter, I like to ask myself a few questions to help me take stock of where I’ve been and where I’m going with greater clarity.
Care to join me and play the at home version of “What Are You Grateful For?”
Questions to ask yourself:
- What successes (big or small) did you achieve 2009 that you can celebrate?
- What lessons did you learn?
- What needs to be let go of or simplified to move forward more effectively?
- What intentions and goals do you want realize in the new year?
- What are you grateful for?
By taking time to answers these questions for yourself, you’ll be amazed at how much mental clutter you can remove from your brain, you know – those “shoulda’s”, “coulda’s”, “What if’s”, and one of my favorites “What was I thinking??”! All this old stuff takes up valuable energy and brain space and when you can get it out of your head and down onto paper, it seems to be a powerful way of letting stuff go.
And as you let this mental noise go, there is room for new, fresh ideas and possibilities to emerge both personally and professionally!
So, to get the ball rolling, here’s the short version of my answers to help inspire you into reflection ;)!
